Visual + Merchandising- Visual merchandising (VM) is the art and science of designing store displays to attract customers, showcase products, and drive sales. It is a crucial part of retail strategy, combining elements of design, marketing, and psychology to enhance the shopping experience. 

It involves arranging products, using color blocking, lighting, and themes to create an effective shopping experience. A visual merchandiser works on different segments like floor plans, color, lighting, displays, signages, technology, and other elements or ideas to attract customer’s attention. 

Its main purpose is to enhance store’s sales by attracting customers inside store. This is now an essential marketing strategy that brands use to sell more products inside the store. This is one of the hottest careers & skill in retail industry where almost all retail brands appoint Visual merchandisers team.

What is visual Merchandising Definition in Hindi:- विजुअल मर्चेंडाइजिंग (Visual Merchandising) का अर्थ है, किसी स्टोर या दुकान में उत्पादों (products) को इस तरह से प्रस्तुत करना कि वे ग्राहकों को आकर्षित करें और उन्हें खरीदने के लिए प्रेरित करें। यह ग्राहकों का ध्यान खींचने और उनकी खरीदारी के अनुभव को बेहतर बनाने के लिए स्टोर की सजावट, प्रकाश व्यवस्था, रंगों, साइनबोर्ड, प्रॉप्स और उत्पादों की व्यवस्था का उपयोग करता है। इसका उद्देश्य स्टोर की ब्रांड छवि को मजबूत करना और बिक्री बढ़ाना होता है।

Elements of Visual Merchandising

There are some important elements of visual Merchandising which are considered most crucial in retail.

1- Store Layout: The physical arrangement of the store, which guides customers inside the store & create customer flow for shopping. All fixtures, gondolas & store’s display racks are placed as per layout & planogram. This is based on customer’s movement, product price & demand.

2- Window Displays: Window Display is brand’s image & first point to connect with customers. An attractive window display attracts large foot falls inside the store & drive good sales.
